Neuro-architecture is an interdisciplinary approach that examines how characteristics of the built environment can influence perception, emotion, attention, stress, memory, orientation, and behaviour.

In practice, that means looking beyond style.

Instead of asking only which colour looks best, we may ask whether the overall visual environment is too stimulating for the activity taking place there.

Instead of treating circulation as empty space between rooms, we consider whether someone can understand where to go without stopping, searching, or asking for direction.
